JAZZ'S STOKE REPORT Well...........what can I say, Bon Jovi were absolutely fantastic!!!!!
I was so excited and Tommie kept telling me how I was going to feel and he
was so right. The stadium was rather small, so that was even better as we had a brilliant view. We had seats right smack bang in the middle and dead opposite the stage. We got there for around 10.30am. We said hi to Jovian and Wandafi, from the chat room and then met up with Donnajbj and her sister Tweetia, who are from Malta. Tommie and I wandered around the stadium and met up with Mojo and Luscious, also from the chat. Just before the turnstiles opened up at 3.30pm we met Runaway and Faith.
Found our seats and the support bands came on at 5.30pm.
First it was Andreas Johnson but I only knew his track Glorious and then it was Toploader, who played Dancin' in the Moonlight and Achilles Heel but must admit apart from that they were not that brilliant.
Then as Tommie knows so much about the set up of the stage because he crewed with them in 1986, he was telling me what they were doing next and how they were doing it, that was really cool!
Then......about 7.45pm the crowd started to get really excited and I
got this fantastic feeling and the air went so hot, they were cheering and we all started the Mexican Wave. I was so excited by this time and Tommie was grinning at me. It was a fantastic feeling and the atmosphere was electric! They came out and went straight into Livin' on a Prayer, then You Give Love A Bad Name. I was dancing and clapping and cheering, god what a feeling it was fantastic. Next came Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars (even thought Jon forgot the words near the beginning it was still brilliant). Then they went into Say It Isn't So, including shots from the video screen, then.........my fave from CRUSH, One Wild Night, which I was dancing and singing my heart out to. Next came Born to be my Baby, followed by It's My Life, then Two Story Town. Bed of Roses came next and it sounded brilliant live with Richie on guitar.
Someday I'be Saturday Night got the crowd going no problem! Then, Wild in the Streets, fantastic oldie, followed by Just Older as he looked across at Richie and got up close with a big grin.
Lay Your Hands On Me, was fantastic as the song started, 2 enormous inflatable hands came up and massaged either side of the stage and Jon running along the front of the Pit shaking hands with everyone, especially our best mate Jimmyshoes, who molested poor Jon but was so glad to get to shake his hand and got a high five from him, as he missed out at Gateshead.
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead came next and got everyone up and dancing away, then came Bad Medicine/Shout which I personally enjoyed and was dancing away.
They then went off stage but of course came back for an encore, with Next 100 Years and Blood on Blood. Then followed another encore with the all time fave Wanted and finished with Keep the Faith!
Finally.........a fantastic firework display to round of a fantastic first concert for myself!!!
All I can say is that they still have it and looked brilliant. Jon's voice is still superb and has matured, with a slightly deeper tone to it.
I am totally addicted now and want to go to more concerts. Tommie said I would and he said it was fantastic for my first 1 but now I am spoiled as nothing will compare, except another Bon Jovi concert!!!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT AND CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THEY COME ROUND NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!
